New classrooms opened in Clontifleece
23 June 2005

South Down MP Eddie McGrady was present at the official opening of new classrooms at Clontifleece Primary School, Warrenpoint, on Thursday, June 9.

This improvement scheme has provided new permanent classrooms and office space, thereby enhancing the learning environment for pupils and teachers alike and removing the temporary mobile units, bringing modern day facilities to the school.

Mr McGrady said he was delighted with the improvements, which will help to foster the future success of many children in the area. He went on to say that 10 years ago the school was threatened by closure and it was the same dedication and community spirit that was proven then, that is now evident in this expanding school, and has helped to ensure that Clontifleece Primary School is among the best resourced and utilised rural primary schools in Northern Ireland.

Mr McGrady also referred to the benefit these improvements will have on the wider community, as the dedicated teaching staff and high quality of learning provided at the school will lead to a successful and prosperous future for the local community.
